The word "ditch" as defined in a basic dictionary means, a long, narrow excavation made in the ground by digging, as for draining or irrigating land. Any open passage or trench, as a natural channel or waterway. However, if while visiting a Montana saloon you hear someone shoutout, "Jack ditch!", it does not mean Jacks in a ditch; it simply means someone ordered a Jack Daniel's on water!
Montana creeks are often pronounced "crick". If you hear someone say someone is "up a crick", they are saying they are up a creek. And if you hear someone say, "that shotgun is "spendy", they are saying, "that shotgun is expensive."
If you keep a sheep in the cab of your truck in Montana, you can be arrested, unless you travel with a chaperone.
